The Festo company specializing in robotics presented in April 2012
the exoskeleton of a hand at the exhibition in Hanover , Germany. this
exoskeleton slips on like a glove and allows to handle a second-hand
robot that mimics and amplifies strength movements glove.
Each finger has eight pneumatic actuators that if-
mulate the wide variety of human movement . Thanks to the effect
force feedback, the human user can feel what the hand
robot grasps and the pressure it exerts increased tenfold over the object.
Too expensive at the moment, this exoskeleton is not yet
put on the market . However, this new technology could
be used in the near future to increase productivity
employees in a factory. It could also be used to manipulate
objects in irradiated or toxic environments. medi-
cine is also interested in this prototype robotic hand .
It would re-educate and rehabilitate patients victims of a cardiovascular event . video
following best describes abilities of this robotic hand .
