The future of the helmet for cyclists



 Many cyclists consider wearing a helmet very restrictive , especially
 for women who do not wish to be disheveled . To remedy this,
 two Swedish Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin , designed the airbag Hovding intended
 to protect the head .
The Hovding is a discreet collar that the cyclist wears . In case of accidents,
 sensors that detect abnormal movements of the cyclist trigger in 1/10 second
 opening an airbag which takes the form of a helmet . The Hovding is made of a nylon fabric
 very durable and can withstand high friction on the asphalt .
 The airbag of the future and allows driving bareheaded and especially suitable for urban cyclists .
 It is available for sale since 2011 in different colors.
 The advantages :
 - Much more convenient to wear a helmet .
 - The Hovding is a kind of waterproof collar that keeps you warm around the neck.
 - Easier to store a helmet after moving .
 - More aesthetic and less harmful to the beautiful hairstyles.
 The cons:
 - Not suitable for sporting cyclists that may transpire at the neck.
 - Its price: 300 to 400 euros, the price from June to August helmets.
 - Once triggered , the airbag must be replaced.
 - The opening of the airbag is pretty loud .
 - Do not effectively protects the front because the nylon fabric crashes (see the end of the video) .
