
Tablets today are becoming thinner , while providing
best experience. The next big technological advance in this
field propose tablets as thin and flexible as a sheet of
paper .
Three firms have partnered to create the Papertab (Intel , the company ANG-
laise Plastic Logic and Queen's University in Ontario, Canada ), a tab-
lette with a 10.7 inch screen and inspired by the minutes of the operation
Paper personality. With a similar effect to that of the electronic ink,
Papertab tablet is based on its flexibility to offer a new
so as to interact , by reproducing the use of multiple sheets of paper ,
in addition to the side of the touch screen . Simply by physical contact , content
a Papertab may be transmitted to another .
The user can interact in various ways, such as by
folding the edges of the tablet to scroll through the pages , or to activate
functions .
The interaction also depend on the geolocation of Papertab . It will be possible to write an e-mail with
a Papertab , and use another to attach a file to the e -mail . This connectivity would also apply to
screen sharing, which would provide a single screen , placing side by side two Papertab .
Presented at the CES show in Las Vegas in January 2013, the Papertab is still in the prototype stage .
Exposed models were equipped with an E -Ink screen, but it seems that Papertab with color screens are
under development . This new technology could be commercialized within three to five years.
